The Kehilan Nowak of the Debbe Family or Kehileh Nowag of the Debbe Nowag family or The Kuhaylat Al - Nawwaq Mares???
A few years ago I had a breeder friend who faxed me some information from the book, Sheykh Obeyd Stud , 1909, by Lady Anne Blunt. This page referenced a mare called Noma foaled in 1901, a Kehilet Ajuz of the Debbe Nowak strain or Kehileh Nowakieh, bred by Prince Ahmed Pasha Kamel at Mataria. Dam ,Noma, a bay Kehileh Nowakieh bred by Ali Pasha Sherif, her dam Nowakieh daughter of the original mare from the Debbe family, brought by Abbas Pasha 1. This led me on a quest of this strain family, I have found the following information.
1. In the Traveler Rest Book - under the Kesia Female line Chart 34. Kesia was a Kehileh Nowag of the Debbe Nowaq family of the Gomussa tribe imported to England by Major Upton. 2.In the Breeding of Pure Bred Arab Horses by His Highness Prince Mohamed Aly - Page 39 The Histories of the Kuhaylat Al-Nawwaq Mares
3. In the Abbas Pasha Manuscript - Page 496 The History of the Kuhayla al Nauwaqiya and page 688 Horses Purchased from Bishr, Shammar and Ruala. A chestnut mare , Kuhaylah Nawwaqiyah. This mare was bought from the Dabbi al Nawwaq.
4. In the Raswan Index - The Kuhaylan of the Ibn Nauwaq. 5. In the Authentic Arabian Horse by Lady Anne Blunt - Page 147 (Original Mares) Nowakieh (of Debbe Nowak) Page 154 Ibn Sbeyni said Abu Senum had a Kehileh Nowakieh bought from the Debbe Nowak family.
The references of this family strain make me wonder is this coincidence, or reincarnation??? For my name is not a real common name Debbie Nowak and we have bred the Kuhaylan strain for over 30 years. We found this very interesting.
